Birdie, Birdie

Birdie, birdie up in the sky. (Oooh little birdie up in the sky)
Said: birdie, birdie you can fly so high. (Oooh little birdie you can fly so high)
O yeah!
I said: O yeah!

If I had the wings of a gentle dove. (If he had the wings of a gentle dove)
I would spread them apart and give you all of my love. (He would give you…now…all of his love)
O yeah!
I said: O yeah!

Said: birdie, birdie up in the sky. (Oooh little birdie up in the sky)
Said: birdie, birdie you can fly so high. (Oooh little birdie you can fly so high)
If I were an eagle I would take you to the highest...(he would take you to the highest rock)
And for all of your desires you would only...(you would only…but you have to knock!)
O yeah!
I said: O yeah!

Birdie, birdie up in the sky. (Oooh little birdie up in the sky)
Said: birdie, birdie you can fly so high. (Oooh little birdie you can fly so high)
O yeah!
I said: O yeah!

If I were an owl I would O so wise.(you know, he would be O so wise)
I would tell you the truth and wouldn’t mix it with a lies.(no, he wouldn’t mix it with a lie)
O yeah!
I said: O yeah!

Birdie, birdie up in the sky. (Oooh little birdie up in the sky)
Said: birdie, birdie you can fly so high. (Oooh little birdie you can fly so high)
O yeah!
I said: O yeah!

If I were a humming bird I’d hum you a song. (hummm, hummm, hummm, hummm, hummm)
To keep your mind at ease all the daylong. (hummm, hummm, hummm, hummm, hummm)

But I’m just a birdie in the great big sky.
And all I know is just to fly so high.
I fly so high in the great big sky.
And when I look to the ground
I have to wonder why, why, why?

I’m just a birdie in the great big sky. (he’s just a birdie in the great big sky)
And all I know is just to fly so high. (and all he knows is just to fly so high)
O yeah!

Catch me if you can.
